The Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) has announced the election of 45 new members at the 22th General Meeting in Trieste, Italy on Nov. 21, 2011. Prof. WANG Shouyang, the vice-president of AMSS was elected as a new TWAS Fellow. |
Prof. WANG Shouyang has made series contributions to financial management, logistics and supply chain management, game theory and conflict analysis, economic analysis and forecasting. He has published 23 monographs with co-authors (including 10 by Springer-Verlag) and over 180 papers in leading journals in the fields of management and economics. Besides, He has submitted over 120 policy research reports to the Chinese government, many of his policy suggestions have been adopted as the government economic policies. Prof. WANG has won the CAS Young Scientist Prize, the Chinese Science and Technology Prize for Young Scientists, the first grade of CAS Prize of Natural Science, the first grade of Beijing Prize of Science and Technology, and several international prizes and awards. He is/was the editor-in-chief, an area editor, a managing editor, or a co-editor of over 20 leading journals including top journals “Energy Economics” and “Information and Management”. He is currently the president of International Society of Knowledge and Systems Sciences and the president of Systems Engineering Society of China.
TWAS is the world's leading academy for scientists from the developing world and an autonomous international organization, aiming to promote scientific excellence and capacity in the South for science-based sustainable development. The 45 members newly elected this year bring the membership of TWAS to near 1000 of the most distinguished scientists worldwide.
